Making art is like moving away without leaving home.
I find meaning in that adventure and stability with a pencil and a brush.
Dusting a surface with graphite powder or pigment,
Transferring textures and shapes from shells, leaves and bark,
I find images, shapes and patterns that call to me.
Circles, arches, and spirals bring order and a sacred feel of ancient symbolism.
I play a lot - fixing, twisting, uncovering happy accidents I find.
Therin ghosts of images and faces appear, leading me on a journey of discovery.
Explore the many modes and moods of my journey of discovery

The figure with huge hat and menorah is Moses as a symbol of personal vision. There is an old oil lamp on the left just above the horizon invokes another symbol of vision - Aladdin and three wishes and perhaps my own multicolored vision of the world. Einstein talked about how his insights came in dreams and intuition almost Iike a visionary. I’m trying to connect them all.
